The Crisis Response Program provides immediate help to individuals, families, and communities facing emergencies across Northeast Alabama: a home lost to fire, homelessness, displacement by a disaster, or not knowing where else to turn.

The Crisis Response Team
When emergencies hit, the Crisis Response Team mobilizes to provide hands-on help and coordinate relief. The team responds to:
- House fires and residential displacement
- Tornadoes and other natural disasters
- Warming Station and cooling station activation during extreme weather
- Emergency shelter coordination
- Distribution of food, water, hygiene items, and emergency supplies
- Volunteer and donation management during disasters
- Coordination with local emergency management agencies and community partners
The team works alongside first responders, emergency management, churches, schools, courts, nonprofits, and other community organizations so individuals and families get help as quickly as possible.
Beyond the immediate crisis
Responding to the emergency is only the beginning. Once the immediate need is met, staff keep walking with individuals and families, connecting them to housing assistance, case management, recovery resources, food assistance, employment support, and the other programs built to carry them from crisis to stability.
