Our Crisis Response Program provides immediate assistance to individuals, families, and communities facing emergencies throughout Northeast Alabama. Whether someone has lost their home in a fire, is experiencing homelessness, has been displaced by a disaster, or simply doesn't know where to turn, our team is here to help connect them with safety, resources, and hope.

 

24/7 Hope Line

Our 24/7 Hope Line is available around the clock to connect people with immediate assistance and local resources. Every call is answered by someone who is ready to listen, assess the situation, and help determine the next steps.

 

Common reasons people call include:

• Homelessness or housing emergencies

• Families with children needing immediate shelter

• Fire victims who have lost their homes

• Senior citizens facing emergency situations

• Food and basic necessities

• Utility or weather-related emergencies

• Severe weather shelter information

• Resource referrals and community navigation

Crisis Response Team

When emergencies affect our communities, our Crisis Response Team mobilizes to provide hands-on assistance and coordinate relief efforts.

 

Our team responds to situations such as:

• House fires and residential displacement

• Tornadoes and other natural disasters

• Warming and cooling station activation during extreme weather

• Emergency shelter coordination

• Distribution of food, water, hygiene items, and emergency supplies

• Volunteer and donation management during disasters

• Coordination with local emergency management agencies and community partners

 

We work alongside first responders, emergency management, churches, schools, courts, nonprofits, and other community organizations to ensure individuals and families receive the help they need as quickly as possible.

 

Beyond the Immediate Crisis

Responding to the emergency is only the beginning.

After immediate needs have been addressed, we continue walking alongside individuals and families by connecting them with housing assistance, case management, recovery resources, food assistance, employment support, and other programs designed to help them move from crisis to stability.
